What Is Unmatched: Battle of Legends, Volume 2?

Unmatched is a tactical miniature duelling game where legendary characters battle head-to-head on a shared battlefield.

Volume 2 introduces four distinctive fighters:

• Achilles – the legendary Greek warrior, supported by Patroclus

• Bloody Mary – a terrifying fighter with supernatural abilities

• Sun Wukong – the mischievous Monkey King, accompanied by his clones

• Yennenga – the legendary princess and warrior, supported by her archers

Each hero has a completely different deck and fighting style. This asymmetry means learning one fighter doesn't necessarily prepare you for another — and discovering how different heroes interact is a major part of the game's appeal.

Volume 2 can also be combined with other games in the Unmatched system, allowing fighters from different sets to battle one another.

How to Play Unmatched: Battle of Legends, Volume 2

1. Choose Your Fighter

Select one of the four legendary heroes and take their miniature, character card, health dial, sidekick tokens and unique action deck.

2. Move Around the Battlefield

Positioning is crucial. Move your hero and sidekicks around the battlefield to get into attack range, escape danger or set up your next move.

3. Play Your Cards

On your turn, you normally perform two actions. Depending on the cards available to you, you can Move, Scheme or Attack.

Your fighter's unique deck provides abilities and effects that reflect their particular strengths.

4. Fight

When you attack, your opponent chooses a defence card. The cards are compared and their effects resolved.

There is no dice roll deciding the outcome — success comes from choosing the right card at the right moment and anticipating what your opponent might play.

5. Defeat Your Opponent

Reduce your opponent's hero to zero health and you win the battle.

With asymmetric decks and different abilities, every duel becomes a tactical puzzle.
