Dungeons and Dragons Cornwall — Three Weekly D&D Sessions in Helston

Whether you've never touched a d20 in your life or you've been adventuring since second edition, Roll The Dice Cornwall is the place to play Dungeons and Dragons in Cornwall. We run three D&D sessions every single week in Helston, with tables for home-educated young people, youth groups, adults, and beginners of every age.

D&D in Cornwall has a home here. Come find it.

Our Weekly D&D Sessions in Helston

Home Ed D&D — Tuesday 1–3pm

For home-educated children and young people, our Tuesday afternoon session is something a bit special. Collaborative storytelling, problem-solving, social play — it ticks a lot of boxes that matter to home education families, and the small group format means every participant gets meaningful engagement throughout.

No books, no dice, no experience needed. We provide everything. Just bring yourself and a bit of imagination.

Youth Club D&D — Tuesday 3:30–5:30pm

Our after-school D&D session for young people runs every Tuesday afternoon. It's open to all young people, free to attend, and — like everything we do — completely beginner-friendly. Experienced Dungeon Masters lead the sessions, and they're good at reading a room. Whether your young person wants to dive straight into the adventure or take a few sessions to find their feet, they'll be met where they are.

Adult D&D — Tuesday 6:30pm onwards

The evening session is for adults who want to roll dice and tell stories. All experience levels welcome — genuinely. We have players who've been dungeon-mastering for decades alongside players who heard what D&D was for the first time six months ago. They sit at the same table and have an equally good time.

Friday Night D&D - Fridays 6:30pm onwards

Our brand new multi-group D&D sessions hosted by the wonderful Spencer! A range of abilities are welcome as you adventure through a world created especially for these sesions.

Saturday Night Roleplaying Games - Saturdays 6:30pm onwards

Every 4 weeks a new system is rotated in. Saturdays allow a range of players to try new systems and find the roleplaying game that is for them. So far we have explored Warhammer 40,000 Imperium Maledictum; Arkham Horror; East Texas University; Strange Worlds; Roll for Shoes and more!

Never Played Before? Good.

Dungeons and Dragons has an unfair reputation for being complicated. It's really not, once someone explains the basic idea: you describe what your character does, the Dungeon Master describes what happens, and you roll dice when the outcome is uncertain. That's the loop. Everything else — the character sheets, the spells, the monster stat blocks — is just detail you pick up remarkably fast once you're actually playing.

You do not need to bring:
  • Dice (we have them)
  • A Player's Handbook or any rulebook (we have them)
  • A character (we'll help you make one)
  • Any prior knowledge whatsoever
Just turn up curious and ready to have a go.

D&D Groups — Why Tabletop Roleplay Is More Than a Game

Roll The Dice is a Community Interest Company whose mission is to improve social, emotional, and mental health through tabletop gaming. D&D is one of the most powerful tools in that kit.

Playing D&D regularly helps people build confidence in speaking up, practise empathy through character play, manage frustration and setbacks in a low-stakes environment, and form genuine social bonds with the people at the table. These aren't side effects — they're part of why we run these sessions every week.

For parents wondering whether D&D is good for their child: the evidence says yes, consistently. The collaborative storytelling, the problem-solving under pressure, the requirement to listen and respond to other players — it builds real skills. And it happens to be incredibly fun. The two things are not in conflict.

A Safe, Inclusive Space for Tabletop RPG in Cornwall

All of our sessions are facilitated by experienced, DBS-checked volunteers. Our spaces are neurodivergent-friendly, LGBTQ+ welcoming, and built on the principle that everyone belongs at the table.

There is no cool kid table at Roll The Dice. There is no wrong way to play. There is just a group of people telling a story together, and you're invited.
