So Clover! – Cooperative Word Association Party Game

Can you create the perfect clues and help your team connect the right words?

So Clover! is a cooperative word-association party game from Repos Production, designed by François Romain. Everyone works together to create and decipher clever connections between seemingly unrelated words.

Each player secretly receives Keywords and writes a clue for each pair of words on their Clover board. The clues are then revealed, the original Keywords are removed and the rest of the team works together to figure out which words the clues were designed to connect.

With 3–6 players, games lasting around 30 minutes, and 880 Keywords to challenge your creativity, So Clover! is a brilliant choice for family game nights, parties and groups who enjoy word games with plenty of conversation and laughter.

What Is So Clover!?

So Clover! is a cooperative party game about connecting ideas.

Instead of competing against your friends, everyone takes turns creating a Clover puzzle for the rest of the group to solve.

Four Keyword cards are placed around your Clover board, creating four pairs. For each pair, secretly think of a word that connects the two Keywords and write it down as your clue.

Once everyone has created their clues, the original Keyword cards are removed and shuffled. The other players then work together to reconstruct the four original pairs using only the clues you've provided.

The challenge is finding clues that are clever enough to connect two words, but clear enough for your teammates to understand.

How to Play

Each player takes a Clover board and four Keyword cards.

Place the four Keywords around your Clover board to create four pairs.

For each pair, secretly write a single clue that connects the two Keywords. The same clue can potentially make sense in several different ways, so choosing the right word is important.

Once all four clues have been written, the Keyword cards are removed and mixed up.

The rest of the group then studies the four clues and tries to determine which Keywords originally belonged together.

The active player checks the team's proposed solution and awards points according to how many Keywords were correctly identified.

Then it's the next player's turn to create their own Clover puzzle.

The team records its overall score and can try to beat its previous result in the Record of Legends.

The game is also easy to introduce to non-gamers. There are no complicated rules or lengthy setup, making it an excellent choice for families, parties and casual game nights.

Create the Perfect Clue

Connect Two Keywords

Look at the two Keywords in a pair and think about what they have in common.

The connection might be obvious, thematic, cultural or completely unexpected.

Write Your Clue

Write one clue that links the two Keywords.

Your clue needs to be specific enough to help your team, but not so obscure that they can't work out what you mean.

Remove the Keywords

Once your four clues have been written, the Keyword cards are removed from your Clover board.

Now the real challenge begins.

Reconstruct the Pairs

Your teammates see your four clues and the mixed-up Keywords. They must work together to decide which Keywords belong together.

The group needs to interpret your clues and reconstruct the original four pairs.

Score Your Puzzle

Check how many Keywords the team correctly placed and record the result.

Then pass the Clover board to the next player.
