What Is Sea Scroll?

In Sea Scroll, players collect colourful fish and build schools in their personal Habitat. The twist? At the end of the game, you only score positively if you have the largest school of a particular fish type.

If another player has more of that fish, you lose points instead.

That creates a wonderfully tense decision: how many fish should you collect, and when is it safer to stop? Beautiful paper-quilling artwork by Yulia Brodskaya gives the game its distinctive underwater look.

How to Play

On your turn, draw two fish cards from the Ocean. You can then choose to take a school from the Reef and place it into your Habitat, before discarding one fish from your hand back into the Reef.

You can only take up to three schools during the game, so choosing which fish to commit to is crucial.

When the Ocean runs out, everyone combines their Habitat and remaining hand cards. For each fish type, the player or players with the most score that fish's value, while anyone else holding at least one of that type loses the same number of points.

It's possible to finish with negative points — so collecting everything you see isn't always the best strategy!
