What Is Just One?

Just One is a cooperative word-association game for 3–7 players.

Each round, one player becomes the guesser and secretly selects a mystery word from a card. Everyone else writes down a single-word clue that they think will help the guesser identify it.

The clues are then compared. If two or more players have written the same clue, those clues are removed.

Only the unique clues are shown to the guesser.

The team then has one chance to identify the mystery word.

The result is a wonderfully social game where communication, creativity and knowing your fellow players are just as important as vocabulary.

How to Play

A complete game consists of 13 mystery-word cards.

One player becomes the active player and draws a card without looking at it. They choose a number from 1 to 5, identifying the mystery word that everyone else needs to help them guess.

The other players secretly write one-word clues on their easels.

Once everyone has written their clue, the clues are revealed and compared.

Any identical clues are cancelled and hidden from the active player.

The remaining unique clues are shown to the guesser, who gets one chance to give their answer.

A correct answer earns the team 1 point. A wrong answer loses the current card and another card from the deck, while choosing not to answer loses only the current card.

After 13 cards, count your score and see how close you came to the perfect 13-point game.
