How to Play Hues and Cues

At the beginning of each round, one player becomes the cue giver.

They secretly choose a colour from the colour cards.

The board in front of everyone contains 480 different shades, and it's your job to guide the other players towards the correct one.

Give a One-Word Cue

The cue giver starts by giving everyone a one-word clue.

For example:

"Apple."

Now everyone has to decide which colour on the board they think best matches that clue.

Is it a bright red?

A darker red?

Perhaps a green apple?

Everyone places their marker where they think the target colour is.

Give a Two-Word Cue

The cue giver then gives a second clue using two words.

Perhaps:

"Green apple."

This gives everyone another opportunity to refine their guesses and move closer to the target colour.

Score Your Guesses

Once everyone has made their guesses, points are awarded according to how close the markers are to the correct colour.

The cue giver also scores based on how accurately the group has interpreted their clues.

Then it's the next player's turn to describe a colour.
