How to Play Colourbrain Travel Pack

Colourbrain is wonderfully simple.

1. Get Your Colour Cards

Each player or team has a selection of colour cards.

These cards contain all the possible answers you need.

2. Read the Question

A question card is revealed.

For example:

What colour is Mr Bump?

Or:

What colour is Vine Street in Monopoly?

Now you need to work out which colour card gives the correct answer. (Gathering Games)

3. Choose Your Answer

Select the colour card — or cards — you think are correct.

The clever part is that you're not trying to remember obscure facts from a traditional quiz.

You're trying to remember what colour things actually are.

And you'd be surprised how difficult that can be!

4. Reveal the Answers

Everyone reveals their colour cards.

Get it right and you score points.

Get it wrong and someone else gets the advantage.

5. Keep Playing

Continue through the questions and see who can remember the colours of the world around them better than everyone else.

Think You Know Your Colours?

Colourbrain sounds easy.

Until you start playing.

You probably know that grass is green and bananas are yellow.

But what colour is the Monopoly logo?

What colour is a particular Superhero's costume?

What colours appear on a famous brand's logo?

What colour is a character's clothing?

These are the sorts of questions that make Colourbrain surprisingly challenging — and often lead to plenty of debate around the table.

It's a quiz where everyone thinks they know the answer.

Until they have to choose a card.

No Good at Quizzes? You'll Love Colourbrain

One of the best things about Colourbrain is that you don't need to be a walking encyclopaedia.

In a traditional quiz, knowing the answer is everything.

In Colourbrain, the possible answers are already in your hand.

You just need to identify the correct ones.

That makes it much more accessible for people who normally avoid trivia games.

It's also a great leveller for families because children can sometimes remember colours that adults have completely forgotten!

Big Potato describes Colourbrain as a quick-to-learn family game, with questions designed to work for both kids and adults. (Big Potato Games)

A Great Quiz Game for Kids and Adults

Colourbrain works particularly well as a multi-generational family game.

Children might know the colours of their favourite characters and toys.

Adults might have the edge when it comes to brands, films or everyday objects.

And occasionally someone will confidently choose an answer that makes absolutely no sense.

That's all part of the fun.

The questions are straightforward enough to understand quickly, but remembering the correct colours can be surprisingly difficult. (imboard.org)
