What Is Akropolis?

Akropolis is a tile-laying city-building board game for 2–4 players aged 8+, with games taking around 25 minutes. You take on the role of an architect in Ancient Greece, developing housing, temples, markets, gardens and barracks to create a thriving city.

The clever twist is that your city doesn't have to stay flat. You can build new districts on top of existing ones, creating a three-dimensional city where elevation, positioning and access to Stone all affect your strategy.

How to Play

On your turn, choose a City tile from the available construction site and add it to your growing metropolis.

You can extend your city outwards or build upwards, using Stone to support higher levels. Each district type has its own scoring conditions, so where you place a tile matters just as much as which tile you choose.

Build Plazas to improve the prestige of matching districts and arrange your city carefully to maximise your final score. The available tiles constantly change, so you'll need to balance your immediate plans with the opportunities your opponents might take.

At the end of the game, score your districts according to their placement conditions, Plazas and elevation. The architect with the most prestige wins.
