The Collected and Collated Annals of the battles, wars and conflicts of Aurish Prime: Part 1: Cursed

Prior to becoming a C.I.C. and gaming group, four of us ran a narrative campaign set on the world of Aurish Prime. In this, four factions vied for control of the hearts and minds of the populace, as well as demanding total supplication of the world.

The Death Guard, T'au, Chaotic forces of Odium and the Cult of Latent Salvation all vied for supremacy on Aurish Prime, but only one could have it.

Over a series of posts, we will be sharing the fiction that we created as a result of this campaign.

Part 1: Cursed

This world is cursed. We are cursed.

How could that be disputed? Do you not see the fools that we are? What doubt can be in your mind? We are the Lost and the Damned, flocking to these idols of destruction. There can be no peace, not until the Gods no longer use us as their playthings. Each victory snatched is eclipsed by the next defeat. The world is wracked by war; war between armies, between patrols and gangs and individuals against the background of political scheming, of fragile treaties and trust-less truces; against a back drop of broken promises and traitorous actions.

The prophets of Chaos cry out to faithless Gods. The T’au cling to the ethereal promises of the “Greater Good.” The mad priests of the Imperium cry out to an Emperor either absent or uncaring, and the revolutionary prays to a four armed God they do not, could not, understand. Whispers abound of others fighting for this planet. Of warriors of iron and flickering light; of green brutes with rusted cleavers; some even whisper that agents of the Aeldari have been spotted abroad. All of us, seeking to claim this cursed world.
And for why? For the promise it holds.
For the safe harbour it promises.
